Our curriculum is aligned with DANB standards, ensuring that graduates are eligible to sit for this nationally recognized credential — one that many dental practices require for entry-level dental assistant roles.
The RHS exam includes 75 multiple-choice questions and carries a fee of $270. The exam fee is not included in tuition, but students who register through Stepful may be eligible for a rebate on the exam fee, lowering the cost.
You may take your DANB RHS exam online or in-person.We’re proud to say Stepful students consistently score above the national average on the DANB RHS exam — a reflection of the quality instruction, curriculum, and support we provide every student.
Becoming a Dental Assistant is a great first step in the dental field, and there are several ways to grow your career. Many Dental Assistants choose to gain additional certifications to become a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), which allows them to take on more responsibilities and qualify for higher-paying roles.
In some states, working as a Dental Assistant can also accelerate the path to becoming a Dental Hygienist, a role that offers greater independence and earning potential. Others use their experience to move into dental office management, where their knowledge of dental procedures helps them succeed in administrative leadership roles such as Dental Office Manager or Practice Manager.
Your career path will depend on your interests, experience, and any additional certifications you pursue.
